With your kind support and encouragement this year has seen many success including reaching and passing 500 sales at my Etsy shop! I am now also able to say that my original paintings are held in private collections throughout Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Australia. This past year I also had my first solo Art show and won my first grant!

My new collection has arrived at the shop! Nine of these reproduction prints are from artwork that was painted exclusively for my November solo show at Café Natura in Sault Ste, Marie, Ontario and the tenth piece was previously seen on display at the Art Gallery of Algoma. All of the new works were actually painted only a few months before and some only weeks before the show. If you are interested in purchasing any of the professionally framed original please contact me for further information. I am very grateful to the Ontario Arts Council to have received a grant to help with framing my work from this collection. Otherwise, please enjoy the lovely archival prints I have listed in the shop.

I'm thrilled to let you know that 9 new original watercolor paintings by me, Renée Anne will be hanging at Café Natura on 75 Elgin Street in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario during the month of November 2011. I am also happy and thankful to let you know that this show is sponsored by the Ontario Arts Council who granted me the funds to frame my new works for this show. You can see my 9 new paintings along with 3 previously viewed works starting on November 2nd through to November 30th.

I have painted these new watercolors especially for the show and am excited to reveal them at that time. If you can't make it to Café Natura during the show, don't worry because I will be listing all of the new works as prints in my Etsy shop at the beginning of November. Thankful for pumpkin pie!

Pumpkin pie is my absolute favorite dessert but for the past year I haven't been able to eat it! This year I was determined to eat pie and so I went searching for a recipe that I could enjoy. I was looking for a vegan, gluten free recipe. What has changed for me over this past year is that it turns out I feel much better when I don't eat eggs, dairy or gluten and my oldest son seems to be the same way.

You can find the recipe I used here! I only made a few modifications, I used fresh organic pumpkin from a local farm. I roasted them in the oven and then scooped out the flesh (I also roasted the seeds). I used 3/4 cup organic cane sugar and 1/4 cup real maple syrup. I used blackstrap molasses and I added 45 mins to the cooking time. It was a hit at Thanksgiving dinner and no one knew the difference!

I am happy to say that I am doing my first solo show in November, 2011 at Café Natura in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario where I will be showing original work for the entire month. As a result of this I will be listing over 10 new prints to my Etsy shop at the beginning of this November!! Christmas cards will also be coming soon!!

I'm determined to bring you these new pieces and am so thrilled about it all. I already have some new crochet paintings, a new feather painting, new stormy landscape and sweet bird paintings and more... I have one Christmas card painted and am working on at least one other holiday themed painting that will look lovely as a greeting card.

The new artwork will be kept top secret until the show, except for the Christmas cards that I hope to have at the shop sometime in October!

This was a custom request and I have just fallen in love with the results. The swirls of the treble clef and the reddish brown color brings to mind my grandfather's violin. The small painting reminds me of when he used to play the fiddle at many family gatherings.

Preview Exhibition to Art in the Park and Art Camp

Today I went to my very first official gallery exhibition where my two paintings of Agatha and Mabel are being shown at the The Circle of Creative Arts Center on Queen Street in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The exhibition will run until August 5th. Coincidently, my 6 year old son had his very first art show today too! All week he has been having fun at a very cool painting art camp at the Art Gallery of Algoma (aga) and at the end of the week the kids had an art show. This is a photo of the dance painting the kids did with their painted feet on the pavement in front of the aga, it was one of my favorites!
