These are some lovely custom gift tags that I just completed for a wedding this June!  The happy couple is planning on giving away some saplings and these tags will be tied to them!  Please contact me if you are interested in something similar!

Hearts and Apple Pie

This is my first apple pie and my very first home made pie crust!   The idea for the heart shapes on the pie and the recipe came from a Martha Stewart cookbook.  Roll your pastry flat, cut out the shape that you wish to use, lay them on the top of the apples (making sure to leave spaces between them) and brush them with egg yoke. Bake as usual!

Cardboard Play Kitchen and Laundry

Yet 2 more awesome eco-friendly items I found on Etsy this week!  This is a great alternative to those big, plastic kitchen toys that just end up in the landfill.  Forty-two roads has a plan for you to purchase and make your own cool cardboard kitchen and laundry room!  Your kids will love it!

Corrugated cardboard is an incredibly strong and durable material (no wonder Frank Lloyd Wright built furniture out of it!), yet is at the same time very lightweight and portable. This kitchen maximizes those qualities by being able to always be disassembled and reassembled in minutes! No glue, no nails, no screws - instead, it is held together with a few clever joins that I designed.

Cinnamon and Sugar Cupacakes

Sweet and simple!

Make vanilla cupcakes.

Dip the tops lightly in melted butter, then dip them in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar.

Done!
