The story behind a painting...

I was cleaning up my computer and I re-discovered the photo that inspired my most popular painting so far "A Bird I Once Knew".  This is our oldest son holding the precious life in his hands right before we brought it to the bird sanctuary.  I took this photo in 2007 when this sweet thing hit the window of our previous home in Northern Muskokas.  I'm not sure what happened to this little baby American Gold Finch but I've often thought about the tiny thing. Wherever it is this bird sure has brought a lot of joy into my life and many others since that day.
